Nook · version 5
Welcome to Nook. By downloading, accessing, or using our mobile application and web services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the service.
Our application is a productivity and resource-management tool that lets users save, categorize, and analyze links and files using Artificial Intelligence.
To use the application you must create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. You must be at least 14 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
You retain all ownership rights over the links, notes, and files you save in your account (the "Content"). By saving Content in the application, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process (via AI), and display that content within your account, and to use it to improve the service as described under "Improving Classification" below.
Use Restrictions: You agree not to use the application to store or process illegal material, material that infringes third-party copyright for the purpose of public distribution, or to abuse the technical limits (Artificial Intelligence APIs) of the service.
Shared Nooks and Messages: There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to post, share or send anything hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent or otherwise objectionable in a shared Nook, its chat or a direct message, and not to abuse other users. Any user can report content or block another user by pressing and holding a message, or from the menu of a conversation. We review reports within 24 hours, remove the content that breaks these terms and suspend or delete the accounts of the users who posted it.
Improving Classification
To file what you save, its content is sent to the third-party AI providers that run the models: today Groq and Google (Gemini). That is the text of a saved page or note, and the images, screenshots and documents you save. They process it to suggest a nook, a title, a description and keywords, to write a nook's summary when you ask for one, and to make your library searchable by meaning. Nothing is sent to them for advertising. Each provider handles it under its own terms, which apply to that processing. The providers may change as better models become available; this policy will name them.
We also use the links you save to improve how Nook classifies links for all users: the link's address, its title and description, the nook it was filed in, and whether you kept it there, moved it or deleted it. This data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
When you delete a link, a copy stays linked to your account for 30 days and is then anonymized: it is separated from your account and your nooks and kept only to improve classification. Once anonymized it can no longer be traced back to you.
The application's code, design, categorization algorithms, graphical interface (UX/UI), and brand are the exclusive property of Nook and are protected by intellectual property laws.
The processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Future Advertising Models
We reserve the right to develop advertising or content-suggestion models in the future based on interests and app usage (for example, most-used categories or the topics of saved links). However, any processing of your personal data for advertising or commercial-profiling purposes will be strictly subject to your prior, explicit, and informed consent (opt-in), as required by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You will be able to manage and revoke this consent at any time from your account settings, without affecting your use of the application's core features.
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or inaccuracies in the information extracted and auto-generated by Artificial Intelligence from your resources.
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time. In the app, go to Settings and choose "Delete account"; the deletion is immediate and does not require contacting us.
If you no longer have the app installed, or cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account and ask for deletion. We will delete the account within 30 days and confirm by reply.
Deleting an account permanently removes your profile and username, every nook and saved link, the cover images you uploaded, your messages in shared nooks and direct conversations, and your subscription record. This cannot be undone and no copy is kept. Links you deleted more than 30 days before deleting your account were already anonymized (section 3) and are no longer linked to you. The only exception is where a specific law requires us to retain a billing record, in which case only that record is kept, for as long as the law requires, and nothing else.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if a serious breach of these Terms of Service is detected.
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Spain. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Madrid, Spain.
